Adam Fogelson serves as Chairman of the STX Entertainment Motion Picture Group. The company recently completed its first full year of operation with the comedy hit Bad Moms, which was produced for $20 million and has earned more than $160 million in worldwide box office revenues to date.
From 2009-2013, Fogelson served as Chairman of Universal Pictures, where he oversaw worldwide operations for the motion picture group. In both 2012 and 2013, under Fogelson’s leadership, Universal celebrated its highest grossing years at the worldwide box office in its history. Then, in 2014 and 2015, the studio again broke industry records with the help of many films greenlit during his tenure including such notable titles as Neighbors, Lucy, Unbroken, Fifty Shades of Grey, Furious 7, Pitch Perfect 2, Jurassic World, and Minions. As Universal’s chairman, Fogelson championed numerous blockbusters, including Ted, Bridesmaids, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, Snow White and the Huntsman, Identity Thief, Pitch Perfect, The Purge, Les Misérables, Despicable Me 1 and 2 and Fast and Furious 5 and 6.
Fogelson joined Universal in 1998, rising to President of Marketing and Distribution in 2007. During his time in Universal’s marketing operations, Fogelson worked on every film in the Meet the Parents, Bourne, American Pie and The Fast and the Furious franchises, along with numerous other box office successes.
